Greetings!

We are Church Hill Baptist Church - welcome to our site!   We are a Christian community not far from the centre of Walthamstow.

Why we are here

Our purpose is to demonstrate the goodness and awesome greatness of God, in our community.   We aim to do this by communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.  By doing this with integrity, we believe that Walthamstow will be transformed.

The best news ever!  

That's the 'gospel', the message of Jesus Christ.   We've found it to be a message of hope, that's crossed every divide of history and society.   And though the Christian faith is focussed on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ - on past events and writings....

Relevant

....it's always contemporary.   It's not stuck in the past.  We believe this gospel is truth for all people, in all times, and in all places.   So, we aim to be alert to the concerns of this present-day, urban community; but the message we share is the unchanged gospel.

Communication

We live in a community of varying beliefs, so when we speak of the gospel we aim to do so with goodwill and 'grace', just like Jesus.
